History of California Behavioral Center (CBC)

Located in Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), CBC is a multi-disciplinary service center for children and adults seeking evidence-based, therapeutic support across a wide-range of individual needs. With it’s origins based in the U.S., the name “California” reflects the history and start location of its American parent company, SAILS Group, Inc.

In 1996, SAILS was founded by behaviorists, innovators, and specialists in the mental health field with a passion to serve children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Their “philosophy of fairness” emphasized respectful and dignified care as its core, consistently recognizing the importance of family-oriented, accountable, and individualized service. Given its commitment to high quality of care, supervision, and training, SAILS quickly grew into a well-respected international agency.

Over the past 20 years, SAILS established 12 centers in the US specializing in residential care homes, supported living, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and training and education. In 2004, SAILS expanded its services into the area of early intervention when it established PATTERNS, a behavioral service provider offering an array of intervention options specializing with children with autism and other developmental disabilities.

With long-standing credibility and quality behind the name, CBC, as our first branch in Dubai Healthcare City, represents successful growth and leadership expansion into this region. Above and beyond what is currently available, CBC uniquely brings a wealth of established and supported intervention models to Dubai, particularly with its specialization in certified ABA programming. The opening of CBC marks an exciting new phase in extending our vision of providing quality therapeutic services not only across the UAE, but also throughout the Middle East.
